Everybody uses statistics everyday. Everybody can use statistics everyday. Though the thought may sound as farce, its fascinating to look at everyday use of statistics in facilitating informed decisions affecting everyday life. While statistics usually gets associated with complex mathematical formulas, softwares have tremendously reduced the remembering and calculating part of statistics. And therefore, economist, marketers, social scientists, etc. have started using statistical techniques in their routine work. Understanding of statistics for non-statisticians is increasingly gaining importance as this unappreciated, misunderstood and often misused discipline is acknowledged for the possibilities it holds. Knowledge of this statistics is therefore is increasing becoming critical for practitioners of an array of vocations.
